Why it matters
If AI never mentions your brand, nothing else in this dashboard matters yet. Visibility Score is the gate. A score below 30% means most of your audience asking AI about your category will never hear your name. Every percentage point you gain here is a new set of conversations where your brand exists as an option. What Visibility Score tells you
Visibility Score measures presence. A score of 60% means Erlin found your brand in six out of every ten responses. The other four answered the question without naming you. Track it over time and filter by platform or folder to see where presence is strong and where it drops off. A sudden decline over two weeks usually traces to a specific cause: a competitor gained coverage on a key publication, a listing was removed, or a prompt set drifted out of relevance. How Erlin calculates it
Erlin sends every tracked prompt to each platform your plan enables: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google’s AI Overview and AI Mode. For each response it records a binary result: your brand was mentioned, or it was not.How to read it in Erlin
A rising Visibility Score means AI is mentioning you in more responses week over week. A falling score means you are losing presence. Compare platforms to find where you are weakest: a score of 70% on Perplexity but 25% on Gemini points to a platform-specific gap worth investigating.
Filter by folder to isolate product lines or funnel stages. A folder with 15% Visibility Score is a topic where your audience asks AI questions and never hears about you.
How to improve it
Low Visibility Score has three common causes. Each has a direct fix. AI has not learned about your brand. AI models build knowledge from web content. If your brand does not appear on the review sites, comparison articles, and publications that AI trusts, AI will not mention you. Fix: identify the sources AI already cites via Publications and get your brand covered on them. Focus on high-influence sources first. The prompts you track do not match your product. Prompts that are too broad (“best software”) or too niche produce responses where your category is absent. Fix: audit your prompt set in Prompt tracking. Use Prompt discovery to find questions your audience actually asks AI. Track prompts where your product is a genuine fit. Your content is behind walls AI cannot access. Login-gated pages, PDF-only resources, and content buried inside apps do not contribute to what AI knows. Fix: publish answers to the questions you track as publicly accessible pages on your own site. Structure them clearly and attribute them to your brand name.Related metrics
