What Memory is for
Memory is where you tell Erlin how to write for your brand beyond tone and voice. If every product page should include a specific disclaimer, put it in the Product tab. If blog articles should always mention a core value proposition, put that in the Blog tab. If there are legal or regulatory statements Erlin must include, put those in the Compliance tab. Erlin treats Memory as instructions it must follow during content generation. The more specific your guidelines, the more consistent the generated content. The four tabs
Open Brand > Memory to see four tabs, each governing a different content type:
Each tab has its own rich text editor. Guidelines in one tab do not affect the others. Erlin reads the relevant tab based on what type of content it is generating.
Writing guidelines manually
Open Brand > Memory, pick a tab, and write your guidelines in the editor. The editor supports rich text: headings, lists, bold, and links. Write in plain language as if instructing a human writer. Examples of useful guidelines:- “Always include the product’s key differentiator in the first paragraph”
- “End every product page with a call to action linking to /demo”
- “Never mention competitor names directly in blog content”
- “Include GDPR compliance language in any page that mentions data collection”
Using AI Assist to generate guidelines
If you prefer a starting point over a blank page, click AI Assist on any tab. Erlin analyzes your website to generate guidelines for that content type. It looks at:- Sample pages from your sitemap matching that content type
- Your brand tone and voice settings
- Your products and services information
How Erlin uses Memory
During content generation. When you create an article, product page, or collection in Erlin, it loads the matching Memory tab and follows those guidelines. Product generation reads the Product tab.
