What uses credits
Write operations consume credits from your Erlin balance. These are the same actions that cost credits in the Erlin app:- Running visibility checks on AI platforms
- Creating prompts and collections
- Bulk-creating prompts
- Syncing GSC or GA4 data
- Adding a website for analysis
What does not use credits
Read operations work regardless of your credit balance:- Viewing your dashboard and summary metrics
- Listing prompts, collections, and websites
- Reading snapshot details and AI responses
- Checking competitor rankings and share of voice
- Viewing GA4 traffic and GSC search data
- Reading content decay, recommendations, and advanced analytics
- Checking the status of a running job
When credits run out
Write operations stop working. Claude tells you exactly what happened: how many credits remain, how many the action needs, and where to upgrade. Read operations continue normally. You can still view your dashboard, check competitors, read snapshots, and review analytics. Only actions that trigger new AI platform calls are blocked. To restore write access, add more credits or upgrade your plan at app.erlin.ai/pricing.Rate limits
Erlin limits how many requests you can make in a given time window:
If you exceed the limit, Claude receives a “rate limit exceeded” response with a wait time. Claude automatically waits and retries. In practice this rarely affects normal conversation use. Running bulk operations (checking many prompts at once) is the most likely scenario to hit the limit.
