Your brand profile is the foundation of everything in Erlin. It tells the platform what to look for when scanning AI responses.

What Erlin analyzes

When you add your website URL, Erlin automatically:
  1. Crawls your domain to understand your business context
  2. Identifies your industry and relevant topics
  3. Generates initial prompts that users might ask AI about your space
  4. Detects your brand name and common variations

Brand settings

After the initial analysis, you can fine-tune your brand profile:
SettingDescription
Brand nameYour primary brand name as it should appear in AI responses
Website URLYour main domain
IndustryYour business category for prompt generation
Brand descriptionA brief summary of what your brand does
CompetitorsBrands you want to benchmark against

Tips for better results

  • Use your exact brand name as customers would search for it
  • Add brand variations if your brand is commonly abbreviated or misspelled
  • Be specific with your industry — “B2B SaaS for HR” is better than “Software”
  • Add competitors early to get comparative insights from your first scan

Next steps

Run your first scan

Now that your brand is configured, run your first visibility scan.
